An important initiative - Driving Student Success - launched on Monday, November 16, 2015, by the Bright Minds Foundation in collaboration with District 1 Councilman Jon Weinstein, the Howard County Public School System, and the Howard County business community! This important new focus area is to help provide after school transportation for students.  Read official press release.

Because there are few regular after school activity buses in the system, only students who have alternative transportation to get home can stay after school to participate in activities.  A decision by HCPSS to increase funding to meet this need across the county would necessitate taking money from other important initiatives. The Driving Student Success program will help expand these educational opportunities to more students using private funds. Read more Driving Student Success program details here.
